Today is an important day in the US history: for the first time in years not only an African American presidential candidate is battling against a majority but also, he actually has the a chance to win. The democrat candidate Barack Obama is actually the favorite in several polls and some people have even dared to say that McCain, the republican candidate needs a miracle to actually win the US elections. To be honest, I think this is actually a great day in the US history, regardless who wins the elections a change has been shown, people are changing their mind and have begun to see beyond skin colors, religion and background, and people are actually seeing the potential inside a man.
After two very unfortunate Republican governments people are now putting their faith in other offers, not getting clustered into utopist promises but looking at the possibility of change, that is a plus in my book. Here in Costa Rica news have made an intensive coverage of the US presidential election, and we, the US immigrants have been able to make our decision based on facts and not rumors.
Here in Costa Rica, US embassy offers the choice for all of us to vote through them, I have already done so today and I am hooked on every piece of news I can get a hold of. Americans in Costa Rica do get the same voting benefits as if they were in the US territory regarding elections so, our vote always counts. Honestly, I cannot tell you who I voted for but I do hope that the best one wins. The United States has been in need for a change for a long time now and the world is also hoping for the best given the fact that lots of countries depend on the well being of the United States, Costa Rica is for sure one of them.
